We Need Your Memories !

There are volunteers in the Town of Shenandoah working towards rebuilding Veterans Memorial Stadium in its original location on Junior Avenue and building a new multi-ball field youth complex in Big Gem Park. It is a large scale project and one that will benefit our community for many years to come. Progress is being made and we hope to build momentum even more during 2010!

One of the volunteers is collecting memories for those of us that had the privilege of being able to attend games there. What started as conversations about the old park quickly turned into a large collection of letters from various people about memories of that old ballpark. I told the volunteer I could get him more memories for his collection. So fans, players, coaches, umpires, sports writers, etc., etc... I am encouraging YOU to submit a memory!! You'll have fun going down memory lane and later on reading about everyone else's memories! The memories will be posted on the internet in upcoming months.

You can either email me ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) or write the memories down on paper and give to me. I'll be sure your memory gets to the gracious volunteer that is doing this. Feel free to spread the word to your family and friends as our volunteer will gladly accept memories from anyone willing to donate them. :)

Thanks!, Kirk Comer
