CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS &OTHER DESIGNATED IMPROVEMENTS
Shenandoah River Park including: New boat landing Public restroom at the boat landing Paved access road to the landing and park Paved walking trail Paved Park & Ride on Route 602 Wigwam Village Playground at the end of First Street First Street Improvements including: Replacement of water, sewer & storm drain lines Moved overhead utilities to back alley New street lamps Replaced pavement, curb & gutter and sidewalks Landscaping Banners, benches, planters, hanging baskets Town Hall façade Other building facades Pocket park with benches and wooden rail fence The General (steam engine) on display in a customized building Remodeled old town hall to include: New computer center New police department Paved parking lot Skate Park Paved alley between First & Second Streets Broadband-High-speed Internet service Purchase land from Allegheny Power and built new maintenance shed Big Gem Recreational & Historical Park, including: Gazebo Picnic tables Bench Stairs Bridge Sculpture Pond clarification Fountain for pond Rail fence Landscaping, including stone wall planter, trees & other plantings Large swing set Playground for children Cleared ground for ball fields Graveled parking lot and additional pole lights Bike trails Replaced sidewalks and/or pavement: Third Street between Pennsylvania and Maryland Avenue Pennsylvania Avenue between First and Second Street Pennsylvania Avenue between Seventh and Eighth Street Third Street between Virginia and Denver Avenues Upgraded sewer system to include Eppard Subdivision and a new line on Junior Avenue Designated as an Historic District with 458 contributing structures Boundary Line Adjustment which increased our population by 457 people Banners for each of 4 seasons on Route 340 New subdivision called Forest Knolls with 56 building lots Veteran’s Memorial Park on Virginia Avenue
