ECONOMIC AND SOCIAL BENEFITS OF BROADBAND DEPLOYMENT,
please visit the Telecommunications Industry Association policy page
and dowload the "TIA Whitepaper".

In November of 2002, the Town of Shenandoah applied for a Community-Oriented Connectivity Broadband Pilot Grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Rural Utilities Service.  In September of 2003, Shenandoah was awarded $643,493 to develop a wireless broadband system throughout the Town.

The grant funding was used to renovate the first floor of the old Town Hall on Second Street in Shenandoah, which was turned into the Shenandoah Community Computer Center.  The Computer Center will provide 25 public computer terminals with free access to the high Speed Internet service.

High speed Internet is available to residential and business customers at very competitive rates.
