Big Gem Trail's

Jeff and Amos have been working on this area for over a month now.  There is still room for improvements, but we wanted to share our new site with you, now that the Tiger Lilly’s are in full bloom.

Although this is not the Big Gem furnace foundation, it is the most visible part of the Big Gem complex.  This foundation is what we believe is one of several tenant houses that the furnace workers stayed in. There is several pieces of old train track that we would like to move to the site, and any other artifacts that we can find that would complement the site.  We could also us some more flowers along the trail and a park bench under the big tree next to the foundation.  Maybe in the future when we get some more funds, we can add a nice sign, similar to the civil war sign that is in front of the cottage.

Anyone who would like to donate to this trail can contact Jeff Staples via e-mail at jstaples@highspeedlink.net
