Frequently Asked Questions

When and where does the  town council meet?

The town council meets the second and fourth Tuesday of every month at 7:00 p.m. at the  TOWN OFFICE at 426 First Street. The only exceptions would be if a holiday falls on either of those dates. Check the town activity calendar on the website at www.townofshenandoah.com.

I cannot attend the town council meetings. How can I find out about what is happening in my town? You can view and print the town council reports from the website (or) you can sign up to receive them via email.

Where can I get more information about the Shenandoah Wireless Broadband? You can sign up or get information by calling 1-800-385-9794.

What is the town policy on repairing the sidewalk in front of my house?

Property owners should obtain 3 bids from concrete contractors ( must be licensed and insured), submit those bids to Town Hall for us to forward to Town Council.

Town Council will chose one of the bids (not necessarily the cheapest one, sometimes it is who does the best work), and property owner can then decide if they want to split the cost of the sidewalk replacement with the Town.  (50/50 split of cost of whatever bid is chosen by Council.)

Town or County no longer requires decals.  You simply pay the license fee on your personal property bill due by June 5th.  If you change vehicles or sell vehicles throughout the year you do nothing.  It will be picked up through DMV on your personal property bill due by June 5th each year.

Where do I report damage to my house or property from hurricanes or other natural disasters?

Contact the Federal Emergency Management Agency at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).  For TTY, please dial 1-800-462-7585.

Where do I pay my water bill?

You may mail or deliver your water bill payment to the Town Office, located at 426 First Street, Shenandoah, VA  22849.  The Night Deposit Box is available for after-hours payment.

Where do I purchase dog tags?

You may purchase tags for your canines at the Page County Administration Building.  Check with the County for dates and times that tags may be sold outside of the Shenandoah Town Hall.

When is trash pick up?

Trash is picked up on Wednesday mornings, and it must be placed by the curb by 7am.
